Chandrayaan-3's Rover, Pragyan, Discovers Sulfur on the Moon

Pragyan, the rover has discovered signs of the element sulfur on the south pole of the Moon! The Alpha Particle X-ray Spectroscope (APXS) aboard the rover has detected traces of the element, shared ISRO on X (formerly known as Twitter).

This discovery has led to scientists speculating the origin of the sulfur. Was it volcanic, meteoritic or had it always been present naturally on the Moon?

The following video, taken by the Vikram lander shows the instrument being rotated by the rover.
